It appears to be a well-made camera case designed for a thin compact or ultra-compact camera. I bought it for my daughter who got a Canon D10 for Christmas. It did not come close to fitting the D10 and I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. However, [...] was very responsive and promptly gave me an Amazon credit for the price of the bag plus shipping. It's comforting to know you can buy from Amazon's retailers with confidence that they will treat you right.

27 Watts 5500K Color corrected Day Light Fluorescent Lamp Photo Bulb - 2 Pack 27 Watts 5500K Color corrected Day Light Fluorescent Lamp Photo Bulb - 2 Pack

Okay based on reviews, thank you all so much, I didn't waste time on these duds. Did find out that you can buy full spectrum, that is, daylight bulbs at the specs listed for this item at your local hardware store, (here's a hint: HD), for about $5 for a pack of 2. For higher wattage it's just best to go to a photography supply retailer like bh or wolf so you get what you ordered. Some folks just don't know the difference and seems this retailer is taking advantage of that.

Once I open the box, the model number is not the same. The light output is 1659 Lumens (not the 1800 Lumens). I can't see anything on the box saying that it is for photo shooting. The box clearly says that this bulk is ideal for table lamps, floor lamps and other open indoor fixtures. Hence I am not getting the right product, which by description is a "27 Watts 5500K Color corrected day light fluorescent lamp photo bulb". You can see anything in the box telling you that you receive the right product. DONT BUY IT .....

I expected more light, but I can get it close enough to like a portrait. Full length shots are another issue all together.

these are off the shelf $2.00 cfls the seller claims 5500 kelvin. These are more like 3500 kelvin. not as pictured or described light spectrum may not matter in a porch light but this seller claims to be selling a photo flood with a daylight spectrum and is not delivering this. the manufacturers website says nothing about spectrum. Ummm maybe you ran out of the good ones and called me a sucker.

This is absolutely mislabeled as a 2-pack but was sent as a single bulb (seller sent the 2nd upon request). The bulbs are nowhere near powerful enough for studio lighting and are, in reality, daylight-corrected household CFLs you can get at Lowes for half the price. Nice CFLs but not suitable for the listed purpose.

Opteka HD² Professional Digital Accessory Kit for Canon Powershot G10 & G11 Digital Camera Opteka HD² Professional Digital Accessory Kit for Canon Powershot G10 & G11 Digital Camera

This is a great starter kit for anyone looking to move beyond what you can do with your G-10 or G-11 camera. I found the lenses to be very well made and the optical quality is very good expecially considering the price. (not they are not perfect but what do you want for a $30.00 lens) Unfortuanately due to the location of the auto focus assist beam there is a problem useing these lenses at night but other than they they are great. A great thing to point out is that you can use these on many more camera models than just the G10 / G11 series. Many point and shoot cameras just need an adaptor that you can purchase to use these lenses with them. Also the 58mm thread size fits the front of typical slr lenses. So if down the road when you pruchase your next camera you can most likely use them with it. Obvioulsy they are not the best for an slr but if all you have is the starter lens these are a great help until you can get better lenses. As for the rest of the kit it is decent. The filters are of decent quality, but the polarizer tends to come apart if you are not careful due to the weight of the lens hanging off the front ot it. The case is roomy enough for the accesories and my camera and there is a little room to grow so that is good. Quality of the case and tripod are not the best but they are far from the worst and are better than many other options in the same price range. Normally I would recomend a sturdier tripod but if all you are useing it for is a point and shoot it works in a pinch. All in all I have been very happy with this kit. The big thing I wanted was the lens converters but the case, filters and tirpod are a welcome addition and in my case greatly appreaciated since I had nothing except a camera. Also the service was great. The order was dilivered promtly and with out a hitch. And that is always a plus.

The only items I was shopping for were a telephoto adapter and multiplier for my G-10 ...for less than I would have paid for that, I got the telephoto, a wide-angle, the adapter and filters...all of which were surprisingly good quality...plus the rest of the kit, which are of OK quality, but a bonus since those items were simply extras to what I actually needed.

you get what you paid for, the tri-pod broke and got stuck on my G-11 camera. I thought I was unable to get it out and had to take it to camera shop to get it removed; luckily I was able to remove it pliers. I am afraid to put it back on it. One of the lens had a defect; the customer service was very helpful replacing the lens and tri-pod. I will have to give hands up for the Rep who worked with me. I would buy again from 47th Street Photo but I will buy any generic supplies that are not Cannon brand. They get 4 stars for good customer service, thank for reading.

I ordered this lens and bag combo with high hopes, the bag and the tripod are nice enough, but even though it says these lens work with the canon G10, they don't really, I mean they fit, but you have to use the zoom with them or else they have a round circle like a tunnel, the telephoto lens causes a lens error on the camera when you zoom in to get rid of the annoying circle. The wide lens can be used. It's a lot of fun stuff in the box, but the lens are just really of no use. I saw a youtube video about the opteka lens and it showed how these lens's differ from a canon lens. Not sure if you really need extra lens. If you need a tripod, mini tripod and camera bag and you don't mind paying 89.99 (that's what I paid) then this might be for you, but if you are wanting the lens, I say forget about it.

Got this in the mail yesterday. Real fun to play with since there's so much stuff packed in. However, this isn't top quality stuff, not going to be taking pro photos with it - but, still a blast to play with. The lens construction is quite good. The tele and wide angle, as well as the converter tube is a nice aluminum build. The converter tube I especially like - there were complaints about the official Canon tube being plastic and not fitting securely - this tube surpasses in both fields while being half the price if bought separately. The tele lens, as far as I can tell, does some pretty good quality pictures, though I haven't zoomed way into my finished shots to check the clarity. However, the bulk of it plus the fact that 2.2x really doesn't get you all that further means I probably won't carry it around that much. The wide angle lens is awesome to play with - BUT, it suffers from some realllllly bad blue fringing. Still, the wide-angle is a cool effect, and I don't think people will notice if you're doing web shots. If you're going pro and doing prints though...well, it won't be pretty. I think the blue fringing problem comes from, or is also attributed to the macro lens, that's part of the wide angle. The macro lens is also a blast to play with. You can take some serious close ups. But again, you're going to get some drastic blue edges. Everything else is serviceable. I was disappointed by the polarizing filter because it doesn't turn quite smoothly, and I don't think does all that great job of polarizing either. Don't really notice much of a difference in shots with the UV filter. The cleaning kit is serviceable, but comes with one of the best parts of the kit, the mini tabletop tripod. This has bendable legs and fits in a tiny pouch. The full-size tripod is comes with is of a cheap build. The bag is similarly icky. But! This thing was cheap. The lens are still fun to play with, and they feel real solid. They make your G11 look cooler too. Overall, for the price and a little fun, I'd recommend the package.

Walk Through Fire Walk Through Fire

Reviews

Make no mistake, "Walk through Fire" is entirely a Christian hip hop album. It's message of faith is delivered with powerful, even provocative, lyrics that are very thought-provoking to religious and non-religious listeners alike. The beats are well balanced, with roughly half of the tracks being comprised of live instrumentals, and the others produced with sampling. If you are looking for new music that more than scratches the surface of life, and pushes the envelope of the soul rap genre, definitely purchase this album.

Decent value. Large tripod quite flimsy. Charger has no auto off feature. If you forget and charge > 24 hours you can fry your batteries

Understanding the Canon Speedlite 580EX II / 430EX II Training DVD Understanding the Canon Speedlite 580EX II / 430EX II Training DVD

It`s a perfect DVD, for those who want to understand better light in photography. I would recomend to anyone.

If you're hesitating to buy this DVD because you're wondering whether it would be worth it, since obviously the manual covers the basic features, don't hesitate at all. This is a terrific DVD for the inexperienced stobist using Canon EX flashes as well as someone who only occasionally uses them. What this DVD gives you is as close to "over the shoulder" instruction by someone who knows the Canon flash system inside and out. It provides a step-by-step intro to the Speedlite system, shows you how to set the various features on the 580EX-II and 430EX-II and leads you through clear and concise examples of planning a shoot and how best utilitize both ambient and flash lighting to obtain the best possible images. It's not as comprehensive as a complete lighting course but it is very thorough when it comes to the Canon system and the thought process behind various choices in a series of staged lighting situations. It is worth every penny of the $25 that I paid for it and I'll use it again and again.

If you are like me and dont like to read the manual, the Canon EOS 7D can be an experience that would make you read the manual, if this video guide had not been made. It is clear and well paced and takes you through the basics so that you can enjoy this great camera. Thank you Blue Crane.

The video was okay.. The beginning I feel was done quite well, but then as it progressed I felt more and more like it was being rushed and lacked sense in some areas. It definitely will help you if you feel overwhelmed by the 7D, but expect 25-30 minutes of unnecessary garbage and slow English, followed by 45 minutes of jumping around, making little sense, and using garbage references that don't clear your perception what so ever. I rated it a 4 because I feel it does what it says, but not a 5 because t begins to jump around and contains lots of unnecessary and confusing information.

The DVD instructions are a real "Running Start" for learning the basics of Canon 7D operation. This DVD has certainly flattened the learning curve. As someone who once used the Canon A1 and FD lenses, I am not a stranger to the SLR world of cameras. So this DVD served as a great introduction to the very different world of the Canon 7D DSLR. The video introduces, in plain English the basic functions of the 7D. It explains how many of the settings are "by touch". The narrator compares how a person can control a car by touch, and that the user of the 7D will eventually learn how to "drive" their camera like one drives a car. When viewing your DVD have a notebook, pen, owner's manual, and post-it colored tape tabs. I viewed it straight through, not stopping for the exercises. I then watched it again, jotting down notes and locating the relevant information in the instruction manual. I then performed the exercises. If the 7D is your first DSLR, purchase this DVD at the same time you purchase your 7D. You will be spared all sorts of frustration as you tackle the learning curve. I plan on purchasing Volume 2 in a few weeks.

I do not own this video yet, but if the "Pinpoint Focus with the Canon 7D" sample on YouTube is any indication, it was too hastily put together. It shows footage of a Canon 5D Mark II front, which does not even have the new focus system being discussed. Maybe we're supposed to think all cameras look alike :-)

I'm sure Canon makes high profit margins on these batteries. It's so tempting to buy the generics that cost 1/3 the price. But what I know from the school of hard knocks is that the generic batteries are terrible. These Canon original batteries are really great. I have a G7 and have taken over 9000 photos with it. This is the second time I've had to replace the battery in 3 years. So the battery life for my type of moderately heavy usage is about a year and a half, or about 4500 photos. That's very good, considering the high demands of modern digital cameras on the batteries. When I first replaced the battery, the Canon battery lasted literally for months before even needing to be recharged. It was amazing. Then, after a few charges, each time it needed to be recharged sooner. Finally, you can tell the battery is reaching the end of its life when it needs to be recharged in as little as 3 or 4 days of use. Then one day, in the middle of using it - poof! it no longer works, and no longer can hold any charge at all. I've tried the generics, and they are only about $25, but they act from day one like this original battery acts after months of use. I got no more than a month's worth of use from a generic battery. Never again! Just my experience - but with heavy use, this Canon battery is a champ, and like the old cliche, you get what you pay for.

An excelent battery and it works as per specs. I am very pleased with it.Thank you to Amazon.com for an affordable price of purchace.

AT FIRST MY WIFE AND I WENT TO THE MANUFACTURERS WEBSITE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE COST OF THIS BATTERY WOULD BE $70.WE DECIDED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.WE WENT TO AMAZON AND FOUND THE SAME BATTERY,STILL IN THE BOX FOR $30 LESS.NO BRAINSTORM NEEDED HERE. RECEIVED IT IN AMPLE TIME FOR MY DAUGHTERS B-DAY AND FOR X-MAS.THANKS AMAZON M.ROMANO

I have owned two Canon brand XTi camera batteries since 2006, when I purchased my Rebel XTi camera. I use the camera a LOT: I also do real estate photography in addition to my own photography. After heavy use, the batteries are only now starting to show their age. It is well worth the extra cost for the Canon brand.

At first this battery worked amazingly well, I would take a lot of pictures and not seem to dent it's charge. As a family camera, it did not see heavy use. Then after about 2 years it started to tank. More frequently it needed charging, then it would only last like 40 shots, then less, then it doesn't even run the camera. You might say I should be happy with 2 years, but I have a Kodak P&S digital camera with a built in NMIH battery that I bought in 2001 and its still got the original battery about 9 years later, and it works. I expected more by paying top dollar for Cannon.

Decided I wanted to find a as many Lithium's as I could at the best price and this was it. I haven't actually used this ink yet - but it usually works well and the canon printer I have produces beautiful pictures - better than HP so I have been very happy with it so.

The ink was was fine. I am using it now, I saved lots of money

Great price for all 4 and fast delivery. If you can wait, the Staples cartridge exchange is a better way to go for cost, but you have to wait a couple of weeks for the STAPLES rebates to come to your home.

I had no problems placing the order. The product arrived intact when it was supposed to. The product works without any problems. I'll order this product from Amazon again.

I am the satisfied owner of two canon printers (Pro9000 and MP620) and am a relatively low volume, high quality printer user. I can't add anything specific regarding the quality of these inks, however I would like to point out that while the price is less on Amazon, Staples does have a very nice recycling program for used ink cartridges of all types. I would say that tossing these when they are empty may not be inline with Amazon's new greener packaging initiative, and return mailers (uninsured, and not tracked) may be a cost-effective way to improve overall user experience for this product.

Very quickly delivery... Just 3days from order to received. Thank you so much... Quality is also best.. I'll buy another.... Thank you...

the print quality is great...I will say though I get about 3 weeks of light daily printing after this printer says its out...so don't rush to change it.

I use this ink for my MX860, and I love how it has a clear body. When your printer says there is no ink left, there is NO INK! I never see a single drop left over from a used up cartridge. Also, I like Canon inks because they come with an LED that manually tells you how much ink is left. If the red LED blinks rapidly, then it means that there is no ink left. If is blinks intermittently, it is saying that there is less than 50% left.

I am the satisfied owner of two canon printers (Pro9000 and MP620) and am a relatively low volume, high quality printer user. I can't add anything specific regarding the quality or longevity of this ink, however I would like to point out that while the price is less on Amazon, Staples does have a very nice recycling program for used ink cartridges of all types. Cannon inks are great but i think it's bad when the ink to refill the printer costs half as much as i gave for the printer, other than that complaint the product is great.

This pouch is very handy. It is larger than my Canon camera, so it was a little larger than I was expecting. It still fits pretty well in my purse, and it protects the camera very well. I got the green one - it looks like is a color I would describe as "avocado green" in real life.

this is a unique design, the seller forgot to mention that the black lines are actually soft and fur like. i really like it. the only complaint i have is that the material is really delicate, if you just put your nail on the silver part, it'll leave an indent, so imagine when it's in a purse with keys and pens and other things. so don't expect it to stay looking like new. other than that it works well, it's got a strap on the inside to hold the camera and a little net to hold something like a memory chip. got a lot of compliments on it.

Ok, so maybe not everyone will want a pink camera case... but I've never forgotten my camera anywhere! This case is good, sturdy, and durable. I like that it holds the camera in place with a strap, nice feature. Honestly, if you buy a camera, you must protect your investment. I'd recommend this item.

It's a well made case and it was a great deal, so what's not to like?

item arrived within days, easily in time for the holidays & it was just as advertised.

Lowepro Fastpack 250 Lowepro Fastpack 250

Reviews

I just completed my first trip with the Lowepro Fastpack 250, which I purchased because it provided a compartment for a laptop along with one's camera equipment. Up to this time, I had been using the Lowepro Micro Trekker 200. The Fastpack 250 held all the equipment I normally carried in the Micro Trekker, including a digital SLR with 28-80 and 70-300 zoom lenses, an external flash unit, a point-and-shoot camera, a compact camcorder, USB cables, and battery chargers. With all that and my 14" laptop and its charger, the backpack was quite heavy. Even after unloading the laptop and chargers in the hotel room, the Fastpack 250 was still considerably heavier than the Micro Trekker with the same equipment. What's more, after walking around with it for several hours, I felt some strain in my shoulders and upper back. This could be due to the fact that all the camera equipment rests in a compartment that is in the lower half of the back pack, so it pulls down on your shoulders. The Fastpack 250's feature that allows you to swing it around to extract your camera without having to remove the pack or open the whole pack adds an advantage over all others. However, that benefit also has a disadvantage. You have to decide which lens you're going to use and mount that lens prior to packing the bag. If you change your mind, you have to remove the backpack, unclip two clips, and unzip two zippers to get to the rest of your equipment. Also, the camera equipment compartments are neither as roomy nor as flexible as in the Micro Trekker. If you take a considerable amount of camera equipment and a laptop on trips, the Fastpack 250 is a good choice, but be prepared for some discomfort and inconvenience. Unload as much weight as possible in your hotel room, before going sightseeing. I will use the Fastpack 250 for travel, but will continue to use the Micro Trekker 200 for all my everyday needs.

This backpack is well designed for the three main components I need when traveling as a nonprofessional photo enthusiast: digital SLR camera basics, laptop, and personal items. Particularly useful is the swing-around feature that allows quick access to the camera without putting the pack down. Laptop access is also easy, which is handy in airport security lines. Constructions is comfortable and seems sturdy. The pack could do with more outside pockets and a place to strap or slide a medium-size tripod. Overall it's well worth the money.

As usual Lowepro always delivers. Great size pack for my new Nikon D5000 with 18-55 lens and 55-200 lens, will fit with either lens installed. The Lowepro 350 has slightly bigger lens holder on the top of the bottom section, but for myself this is just what I wanted. It fits the battery charger and cables nicely in those small compartments and has plenty of room to add a flash unit. My lap top also fits perfectly. One thing that I never saw on any of the reviews was the length of the belt. I e-mailed Lowepro and they responded very quickly that the belt size will go up to 58" waist which should be more than plenty for most people. The belt is also pretty wide 1-5/8" and very comfortable. To many back packs have small skinny belts that are not very long. This item also has elastic holders for the length of belt you do not use, or if you do not want to use the belt at all. The lap top compartment can be used for my Manfrotto monopod with ball head when the computer is not in there. Great pack well constructed, heavy duty and lifetime warranty from Lowepro, so do forget to register it @ [...].

The size of the bag is good, but the interior of the bag is disappointing. The upper compartment is pretty much useless and the lower compartment (for the camera and lenses) does not have enough space. The adjustable walls are not adjustable enough, as there are very few arrangements possible with the way the velcro contacts are aligned in the bag. It is not possible to carry a Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm any way except on the camera itself, there are no other positions for it to fit in the bag. This bag would be better if more space were allocated to the camera and lenses and less to the top compartment with no specified purpose. Also, there is only one slip-lock connection, and it is on the right strap of the bag, no where useful. The side pockets are useless and could be better if they were slip-lock connections instead. If I could strap my 70-300 to the side of the bag using the LensCase 3 using slip lock I would be happy with this bag, but because that is missing I unfortunately had to return the bag. It would also be nice if there were a place on the bottom to attach a tripod, but that wasn't a deal breaker, the absence of a way to carry an essential lens was.

I buy this item after i look to reviews. But when i receive it i try to put my items from canon 200DG to this bag i cant adjust compartments because its not possible only i can adjust the middle part but i cant the left and right parts becasue the stickers stick only one place. Also i cant put my eos 40d with battery grip. The quality of bag and zippers and other features are ok but the camera compartment is not adjustible. first see or try this bag if you use batery grip and large diameter lenses.

This is a great bag! I asked, and I received (thanks Babbo)! I am an amateur photographer and have recently transitioned from a digital camera (Sony Cybershot DSC H-1) to a DSLR (Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i). I have every intention of adding to my collection of lenses and instead of purchasing a bag that carries what I currently own, it seemed wise to both my father and I that I purchase a bag that will fit my needs as I mature as a photographer. This is my first camera backpack and I love it! It fits my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1525), my camera, my flash, and my two lenses. There is adequate padding and it remains comfortable while I'm walking. Yippee! There are two areas in which I feel could use improvement: 1) There is no contraption to attach my tripod to my backpack, and 2) The pockets holding my camera and lenses are not as snug as I would like. Having read the reviews prior to deciding on this purchase, other customers have made mention of these design "flaws" as well. So, in sum, great camera bag and with some minor adjustments, it can be close to perfect.

great pack. good design. comfortable. holds camera, computer and pockets for extra stuff. was surprised how versatile it is... love it!

Only the bottom HALF of the bag is for your camera, lenses and accessories. The top half is an unpadded compartment for your personal items. I purchased this bag HOPING to use it for my trip to Venice this coming July. I'm bringing a Nikon D700 with the MB-D10 battery pack/grip and Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 lens attached. Along with the above, a Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8 lens and my 50mm f/1.4. This camera bag will NOT hold all the above. It WILL hold my D700 w/battery pack attached and 70-200mm lens attached, but even with the lens hood out of the case completely, it BARELY fits (due to the length of the 70-200). I could not fit AT ALL my 24-70 lens (with lens hood removed) when the camera and 70-200 are already in the case. The 50mm fits fine. The camera itself was not a problem... but if you have a 100% pro system (full size FX sensor) with more than one pro zoom, I would strongly suggest you look to a bigger CAMERA bag. This bag would probably be fine for non-pro lenses, since they are more narrow, and usually shorter in length. The 70-200 f/2.8 does not change in length as you focus or change zoom setting like the 24-70 does when zooming. For amatuer format (DX) DSLR's and lenses, this is a VERY well constructed bag... and attractive. It would probably be best to check this bag at a local pro camera shop to see if it can hold ALL the equipment you plan to use, without having to literally force your lenses into the tiny lens compartments (even with the two small partitions removed!) Lowepro could have made this a better bag had they only added 1.5" to the overal interior width of the pack! I'll be looking for a bigger CAMERA bag before I go on my trip. Pros: Rugged, Plenty of room, well padded and comfortable, fits all my gear. Cons: Wasted space on the top, no place for tripod Good pack tough enough that I feel it will last me a long time. No place for a tripod unless you get creative. Very comfortable.

A great bag. Compact for its size, I can carry my D-200 with 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, 18-55mm f/2.8 lens and flash in the lower section. Upper section has plenty of room for my KATA raincover, windbreaker and pullover cap, which is accessable with ease. This is extremely handy, especially when the weather takes a turn during football games. My 15-inch laptop fits in the side pouch with no problem. All that gear can be heavy, but shoulder straps are padded and The hip and sternum straps help to distribute the weight correctly. Unlike other combo bags that I've owned, which were much wider, this Fastpack 350 is compact and should be no problem being a carry-on for taking along on plane trips. I highly recommend this bag.

Underwater Case for the Canon Powershot Digital Camera Underwater Case for the Canon Powershot Digital Camera

Reviews

I bought this so that I could use a "normal" camera at a water park we went to and it worked perfectly. No leaks, no weirdness.... did everything as advertised. :o)

A week before I purchased this camera case I didn't know such things existed. Today I returned home from Hawaii, and I'm looking over the wonderful photos and video we captured of our snorkeling trip, using our regular point-and-shoot (Canon SD870) thanks to this waterproof case. There were a number of people on the boat trip who had purchased a single-use underwater disposable camera for about the same price. They now have a roll of 20 pictures, whereas we have hundreds, and video (8G card in the camera). No water problems, easy set up, very reasonable price, super fast shipping-- a total winner! Quick hint: our Canon has an 'underwater' setting. Photos came out much more vibrant once we switched to that setting.

Considering the other waterproof case for my camera was $170 this was definitely a great alternative. I tested it out before I used it and it kept the paper dry. So i took on vacation with me and it was great. I even lost the camera once in the water and I was able to recover it because it floated. My only issue w/this product is thats it too big for my camera. so when you took pictures you had to make sure that the lens was centered in the plastic ring. or else you would get outlines of the camera ring in your pictures. also if you take a picture w/flash you have to struggle a bit to keep the lens centered and the flash light not covered by the case. its not the easiest waterproof case to use but once you get the hang of it, it works well. overall good product...GREAT PRICE

This thing was great! I was looking for a case to put my wife's powershot 7MP into on our honeymoon to Fiji and this meet all my needs. It is more affordable than a hard plastic custom case, but it still does the tasks those cases do. It kept water out the entire trip with not on drop of water seeking in over 5 days of use. The lens on it also allowed for very clear pictures as long as there were not water drops on it and you kept the camera lens centered properly. It also did a great job of keeping the sand out. The drawbacks were that you don't get a completely custom fit and the plastic can make it slightly difficult to operate some buttons like zoom, but what do you expect from something in this price range? make sure to place Silica packets inside just in case and let it stay open to dry out every night and it will work great for you.

My wife and I were looking for a reasonably priced option for taking underwater pictures while we were on vacation in Bora Bora. The fitted underwater camera cases are nice but were expensive. Since we did not see a recurring need for an underwater case we decided to try the Underwater Pouch for $29. It is not perfect, but it turned out some great underwater shots with our Canon Powershot. I would definately recommend this to anyone that did not want to invest in a underwater case.

I was going on a trip that would have snorkeling as one of the activities and I wanted to be able to take pictures underwater. I didn't want to spend a lot of money so I settled on a case I could use for a small point and shoot camera, a Canon A570. This case proved to be easy to set up. To use the case, drop the camera in the case and seal it. There are triple seals to keep out water. The first is a zip lock type seal that is the main barrier against water entry. The end of the case is folded over and closed with a Velcro seal and the folded again with another Velcro seal. The seals worked and I did not have any water get inside the case. The case includes a strap and I hung the camera around my neck while snorkeling. There is sufficient air in the case such that it floats. Using the camera inside the case took some care. My camera has a lens that extends when the camera is turned on. If the lens is not centered over the extension in the case, it will hang and not extend fully when the camera is turned on. So the first step was always to center the lens with one hand and turn on the camera with the other. The camera can slide around in the case as there is nothing to fix it in position. The plastic case is heavy enough that I found it difficult to operate the zoom lever as it is located near the rolled up end of the case. Buttons are much easier to push, although it does take some effort. I did manage to take lots of pictures underwater and they turned out OK. At the widest zoom, the end of the case shows in the picture as a black ring. Once you are underwater and try to take pictures out of the water as well as underwater, drops of water remain on the lens part of the case and show up in pictures taken with the camera out of the water. All in all this case performed as expected and considering the price, it does a great job. If one is considering doing a lot of underwater photography, then a hard case might be a wise investment, but for a trip and casual use this is a useful item.

I was hesitant to trust this product with my digital camera but went snorkling with it twice and had no problem with leaking. I also took pictures from up high while parasailing which I wouldn't have done without it being waterproofed! My only complaint was that I couldn't use the zoom as the plastic prevented me from zooming back! I had some trouble adjusting to seeing the black circle in my viewfinder buyt once I realized I could just point slightly above the subject (fish) instead of lining them up in the usual manner, I did fine! And for those pictures that had the black cirle, I was able to crop it out!
