PhotoBert Photo CheatSheet for Nikon D200 Digital SLR CameraReviewsGiven that the Nikon D300 instruction manual that comes with the camera is almost an inch thick, this little laminated reference is invaluable for travel. Unless you have a "photographic" memory, it's impossible to remember the hundreds of options and various settings for the D300. It is advisable to read the Nikon manual first, then the CheatSheet is even quicker to use and will jog your memory when you're out with your camera. This is not a substitute for being familiar with the camera, but can avoid a lot of frustration trying to find one particular setting. Really nothing to lose by adding this to your camera bag. Note that this CheatSheet is for the D300, not the D200 as the product description indicated. Although this plastic card has some useful information for Nikon D200 users, it is certainly not worth the $10 for the card and the $7.50 from Adorama to ship it. If I had it to do all over again, I would just read the manual and use the money for a nice dinner. I recommend you do the same. I usely don't give reviews on instrucional type products but am in this case because it is well made and nicely thought out. I don't use it now but it did come in handy initialy when using the D200. The impact of this product is more evident when I look back on just the few specific images I would have not captured if I did not have this quick reference available during my first few days with the camea. It also comes in handy when showing someone else how to use the camera in a pinch. Nice clear type in a well laminated and creased format. Worth the ten bucks if used one time in my opinion. Good luck! Average Rating:![]() |

Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + Nikon 55-200mm AF-S VR Zoom Lens + 4GB SD Card + EN-EL9 Battery + Case + Cameta Bonus Accessory KitReviewsThis is a great camera and a great package. It has all the professional tools, and they are very accessible. This is the camera for the person that wants a great SLR, but don't want to pay a huge amount of money. This camera is perfect for me. I used to have semi-professaional non SLR Olympus, but it broke down after heavy travel. I took a lot of pictures, but although I could adjust the aperture, iso, shutter time etc, it was a bit too cumbersome for me. The result was I almost always went with the predefined programs. With the D60, this is a lot easier, and now I always adjust these values as needed. It is also a much better camera. If you are a professional or an advanced amateur photographer, you can still take very good pictures with this camera, but you probably want to go with one of the higher end, where controls are even more accessible. About the package. Its great that it comes with 2 lenses. When taking pictures indoors, the 18-55 is adequate most of the time, while outdoor you often like to zoom in a bit, the 55-200 is good. Personally I switch back and forth a lot, so a 18-200mm would great, but its another $500, so this is still by far the best deal for me. One of the best features, is that you can take really good pictures indoors, during the evening, without flash. This is really great, I purchased this camera for my hubby for his 52nd birthday! He loves photography and has always been strictly film, Minolta 7000 35 mm cameras, all the lenses, filters, etc. He kept color in one and black and white in the other. We used to own a photo studio with mini lab. Here he had control of the photo processing instead of now having to depend on the kids at "Walmart" to produce the true quality of his photos. Because of where we live, unless we sent his film off somewhere and hoped it made it back, we were stuck with this processing. Our teenage daughter got a Kodak Easyshare digital camera for Christmas. My hubby was pretty impressed with the quality photos she could create. But he still felt there was something "not right" about digital. He felt he would lose his control and creativity. Plus I knew he would'nt be comfortable holding such a small camera. He needed the feel that he was really holding on to something. The Nikon D60 was the answer. I was scared when he opened the box, that he wouldn't kile it or that I was trying to take away his film, but he LOVED it!! He was like a little kid with a new toy. He's been playing with it ever since. He loves eveything about it. The way he can manually focus, change colors, crop and all the other things it can do. He is very happy and I'm happy for him. The 35 mm will always be there just in case, but I think we've changed him to digital now! Thank you I purchased the Nikon D60....received it yesterday and already have over 100 pictures taken! It's extremely easy to use for beginners (being me) and it came with many of the accessories one needs to get started. The start up instructions are easy to follow. This is a great camera....I'm just waiting on my 55mm-200mm VR lense that shipped today. Do your homework finding a good camera...if you're a beginner, the VR lenses are wonderful. It's obvious that the cleaner the lens, the sharper your pictures will be. Dirt, dust, and fingerprints will degrade the image quality of even the finest optics. However, it's important to avoid using incorrect cleaning materials which can permanently damage your photo equipment... |

Underwater Case for the Following Nikon Digital SLR Cameras: D700, D300, D200, D90, D80, D60, D5000, D40x, D40 Digital SLR CamerasReviewsWhat can I say... this product didn't fail at what I needed it to do - Keep water out of my SLR for underwater shooting. That said, don't expect to be able to do a lot of fine tuning once you get underwater. You can get at the shutter button, and that's about it. No big deal, I just jammed it into full auto and let Nikon do the thinking for me. You are probably better off buying a dedicated underwater point and shoot (The case reduces your SLR to a P&S anyway). If you do decide to go this route a word of advice: Water magnifies your subject (If you ever used goggles, you get the idea). It also creates a lot of haze if there is to much of it between you and your subject. On my first attempt, I used a 24-70mm and even at 24, I had to get halfway across the pool. On my second attempt, I used the excellent Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. It fit reasonably well in the casing, and by getting closer to my subject, I was able to get much better results. Pros: Keeps the water out as advertised. Cons: Not suited to professional work, better options for armatures Very practical, a little too big but effectively protects the camera. Very excited about this purchase This review has nothing to do with the vendor (Cametta). They packaged well and sent the item promptly. This product is simply a joke. Out of a desire to do cool things in the water on the cheap (but this thing is NOT cheap for what it is) I bought it despite having my doubts. Well... BELIEVE your doubts! I feel stupid for not being more pragmatic. I read the positive reviews (are they plants?) and thought I'd give it a try and now I have to decide to return or keep just because I'm too lazy. Where do I begin? It is basically a plastic ziploc bag I suppose. Where in the world do they come up with over a hundred dollars? It looks like it should cost perhaps $20 max. On mine the polycarb front cover has a deep blemish in the center. And there was some dust. (Contrast this with the wp-dc11 which I bought for my P&S Canon G7 which cost only slightly more and is a vastly superior product and the lens is clean.) Well I proceed to open it and find it hard to fit in my Canon 5D with a 17-40, a rather small lens. The lens casing does NOT retract to become flush with your camera lens. The lens clunks around and inevitably your pictures will show casing edge. To operate the camera is near impossible. You can dig your fingernail in to turn the camera on or push some buttons but then you feel like you might crack the plastic. The little finger holes are a joke. I found there was no way to turn my zoom lens. I can barely see thru the viewfinder. I tried to rationalize and say this may be useful for inclement weather or sand storms or maybe as a bag but who are we kidding. It's not even easy to pull this out of the plastic quickly for a shoot. I'm better off putting in a standard camera bag and when the weather breaks or there is mini-shelter like a tree or whatever, then I quickly pull out and shoot. This thing is worthless. If you insist on trying as I did, then perhaps try a cheaper knockoff. It will suck too but at least you won't be ripped off. Or buy mine, brand new and never used. I'm lazy to return (and worry about vendor resistance) so it may be easier if someone pays and then I ship. Just add on to this comment with your email or other info. Overall, this is a great product and allows you to take stunning underwater photos (way better than a waterproof point and shoot) It does take some getting used to though, and it's main drawback (as has been noted by other reviewers) is , because of the unneccesary hard plastic casing over the lens area, the lack of the ability to move the zoom ring on the barrel of a standard SLR lens. This drawback in itself will affect sales. Dicapac should do two things. Keep this model for people who want to use it for large zoom lenses-where you can move the zoom- and make another model which has a soft plastic casing over the lens area which would allow the zoom to be used on a smaller standard lens. I I sympathise with the guy who said he had a leak with hi product but I think this is very rare other wise there'd be lots of such stories on the internet (which there isn't. I did some research before buying this) But in general this is essential for ocean shots, swim shots, pool shots, rain shots, etc etc. A slightly flawed but excellent product, and it's a great price too this has been created for all those who want to take wondefur pictures under water, It also can be use when take pictures outside and is raining, this will protect your cam. Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for D200, D300, D700 and D80 Digital SLR Cameras, Part 25334ReviewsAny photographer knows that you have to have a spare battery! I constantly find myself swapping the original for this back up one as I take my camera out with me all the time & sometimes forget to bring the batteries in for charging. It's always nice to reach for that spare instead of missing that shot...I bought a spare battery for my Nikon S7c Point & Shoot as well. It's just a must have for me or anyone who owns a digital camera. Nikon D90 & S7c Owner I bought this battery as a backup to the original Nikon battery which still works well. I previously purchased a 3rd party battery as a backup but it lasted only a year before it was unable to hold a charge. The Nikon batteries allow for hundreds of photos before needing recharging and having a backup battery allows me to completely empty the battery before recharging without the concern of running out of juice in the middle of a shoot. What can I say...it's a battery...it works. Anyone who uses their Nikon DSLR seriously should have a spare battery...get it...it will save a future shoot, especially, if you're going out in cold weather. Make sure this is the battery for your model though... Moved a few months back and lost my Nikon charger... only had two of the batteries and somehow managed to use my D90 for over a month before finally finding the charger... simply amazing. These are surprisingly durable and keep their charge when lesser batteries don't. The only time you really need to worry about these batteries holding up is while heavily using liveview or video... but if you keep a spare on the charger you should be golden. It's nice to have extra battery back-up, just incase for traveling,I have never run out battery yet. Average Rating:![]() |

Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR CamerasReviewsI'll be brief since there's a million reviews on this already. Pros: Works flawlessly with Nikon's CLS, often in challenging environments (in full sun, around the corner, where you wouldn't expect a good reception). Great control from in-camera menus. Simple navigation and setup (after a few days of practice) Cons: Obviously not as powerful as 800 or 900. There have been some situations where it's just not enough power; I've had to double up my SB600s or just rent something better. I burn through batteries pretty quickly, but that's just the nature of strobing. Eventually I wised up and bought rechargeables. I have a Nikon D80. I bought the Nikon SB600 to use as a secondary flash, as its description seems to imply. It does not work that way. DO NOT BUY THIS as a secondary flash unless you already have an SB800 or SB900. Sadly, I thought that Nikon products would work together better. I feel cheated and very disappointed by them and this product. The flash works by simply putting it on top of the camera and it will do all the work. I particularly like the ability to bounce off ceilings and walls and still get proper exposure. I won't retread older reviews with this. This flash does a damn good job, considering it's half the price of the 900. It won't give you all the reach or the coverage of the 900, but it does about 75-80% of what the 900 can do. What's more, it is about a third smaller, so if you're taking a fill flash outdoors it'll fit in a coat or cargo short pocket without falling out. Light quantity is very good, and wireless response is excellent - from almost any angle, it'll respond to my D80's flash signals where the 900 sometimes won't. I use this both for work and for fun, and I'm not disappointed with it. The only quibble I have is the lack of support for gels, but I know a lot of folks do DIY gels, so this is a minor issue. I would highly recommend this flash for any prosumer application. SB-600 FlashNikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras I love this flash. I have a D300 so I have been using the built in flash but I bought this flash for more power and to use the built in Commander functionality of the D300 to fire this flash remotely for more flexibility and power. I plan on doing more painting with light and Macro photography so getting the flash off the camera is one of my ways to do so. You will need to buy a book or something to learn all about the power of this system. Plan for it and use it. Average Rating:![]() |

New 200AW Photo Video D SLR Digital Camera Sling Shoulder Backpack Bag Quick-Access PaddedReviewsExcellent item! Compared to its high dollar competition this goes head to head. Small differences that you can only see if comparing side by side i.e. zipper pulls. Built in rain cover is great works perfect for travel short or long trips. Had to improvise a little to get tripod on it but other than that I have zero complaints. When you search for "lowepro slingshot 200 aw" this product is in the list. But this is just a look alike of lowepro slingshot 200 aw. This product is not from LowePro. It is Similar, functional, lower cost alternative but not an apple to apple comparison in quality. The high shipping cost to & fro makes it less meaningful to return (the shiping cost would work out to more than half the product cost). So, be sure before purchasing. Bought this item after a long search. Worked great on the plane to Florida and then through Disneyworld and Sea World. Fit small dslr, extra batteries, cables, iPod, headphones and a few snacks. Distributes weight well like a backpack but swings easy to front to get the camera or other items. Comes in handy because I felt I never missed a shot. Plus I didn't have to take it off for a bus ride or park ride - just swing it to the front. Plus the rain bag was handy for the water rides and short pm shower. Since I don't have extra camera lenses it left room for more stuff in the main compartment which you can configure to you liking. I even fit q book for the plane ride. Overall a good design and size. Room for tripod on the outside. Doesn't have a place for a water bottle but you can cetainly hang one off the side which I will do in the future. No problems. Fast delivery, great product. I fit a Nikon D90, a D40, and a small SB-400 flash and 4 lenses in the bag with no problem. This camera bag is very compact and have nice room for storage. The only downside to this bag is that it does not have an efficient way to store a tripod. One thing I really like about this bag though, is that in the bottom there is a pull-out rain bag that is attached to the camera bag, so you can walk in the rain and not get your bag wet. All in all, I give this camera bag a 4/5. It is a great starter and intermediate bag. Average Rating:![]() |
