Opteka HD² Professional Digital Accessory Kit for Canon Powershot G10 & G11 Digital CameraReviewsThis is a great starter kit for anyone looking to move beyond what you can do with your G-10 or G-11 camera. I found the lenses to be very well made and the optical quality is very good expecially considering the price. (not they are not perfect but what do you want for a $30.00 lens) Unfortuanately due to the location of the auto focus assist beam there is a problem useing these lenses at night but other than they they are great. A great thing to point out is that you can use these on many more camera models than just the G10 / G11 series. Many point and shoot cameras just need an adaptor that you can purchase to use these lenses with them. Also the 58mm thread size fits the front of typical slr lenses. So if down the road when you pruchase your next camera you can most likely use them with it. Obvioulsy they are not the best for an slr but if all you have is the starter lens these are a great help until you can get better lenses. As for the rest of the kit it is decent. The filters are of decent quality, but the polarizer tends to come apart if you are not careful due to the weight of the lens hanging off the front ot it. The case is roomy enough for the accesories and my camera and there is a little room to grow so that is good. Quality of the case and tripod are not the best but they are far from the worst and are better than many other options in the same price range. Normally I would recomend a sturdier tripod but if all you are useing it for is a point and shoot it works in a pinch. All in all I have been very happy with this kit. The big thing I wanted was the lens converters but the case, filters and tirpod are a welcome addition and in my case greatly appreaciated since I had nothing except a camera. Also the service was great. The order was dilivered promtly and with out a hitch. And that is always a plus. The only items I was shopping for were a telephoto adapter and multiplier for my G-10 ...for less than I would have paid for that, I got the telephoto, a wide-angle, the adapter and filters...all of which were surprisingly good quality...plus the rest of the kit, which are of OK quality, but a bonus since those items were simply extras to what I actually needed. you get what you paid for, the tri-pod broke and got stuck on my G-11 camera. I thought I was unable to get it out and had to take it to camera shop to get it removed; luckily I was able to remove it pliers. I am afraid to put it back on it. One of the lens had a defect; the customer service was very helpful replacing the lens and tri-pod. I will have to give hands up for the Rep who worked with me. I would buy again from 47th Street Photo but I will buy any generic supplies that are not Cannon brand. They get 4 stars for good customer service, thank for reading. I ordered this lens and bag combo with high hopes, the bag and the tripod are nice enough, but even though it says these lens work with the canon G10, they don't really, I mean they fit, but you have to use the zoom with them or else they have a round circle like a tunnel, the telephoto lens causes a lens error on the camera when you zoom in to get rid of the annoying circle. The wide lens can be used. It's a lot of fun stuff in the box, but the lens are just really of no use. I saw a youtube video about the opteka lens and it showed how these lens's differ from a canon lens. Not sure if you really need extra lens. If you need a tripod, mini tripod and camera bag and you don't mind paying 89.99 (that's what I paid) then this might be for you, but if you are wanting the lens, I say forget about it. Got this in the mail yesterday. Real fun to play with since there's so much stuff packed in. However, this isn't top quality stuff, not going to be taking pro photos with it - but, still a blast to play with. The lens construction is quite good. The tele and wide angle, as well as the converter tube is a nice aluminum build. The converter tube I especially like - there were complaints about the official Canon tube being plastic and not fitting securely - this tube surpasses in both fields while being half the price if bought separately. The tele lens, as far as I can tell, does some pretty good quality pictures, though I haven't zoomed way into my finished shots to check the clarity. However, the bulk of it plus the fact that 2.2x really doesn't get you all that further means I probably won't carry it around that much. The wide angle lens is awesome to play with - BUT, it suffers from some realllllly bad blue fringing. Still, the wide-angle is a cool effect, and I don't think people will notice if you're doing web shots. If you're going pro and doing prints though...well, it won't be pretty. I think the blue fringing problem comes from, or is also attributed to the macro lens, that's part of the wide angle. The macro lens is also a blast to play with. You can take some serious close ups. But again, you're going to get some drastic blue edges. Everything else is serviceable. I was disappointed by the polarizing filter because it doesn't turn quite smoothly, and I don't think does all that great job of polarizing either. Don't really notice much of a difference in shots with the UV filter. The cleaning kit is serviceable, but comes with one of the best parts of the kit, the mini tabletop tripod. This has bendable legs and fits in a tiny pouch. The full-size tripod is comes with is of a cheap build. The bag is similarly icky. But! This thing was cheap. The lens are still fun to play with, and they feel real solid. They make your G11 look cooler too. Overall, for the price and a little fun, I'd recommend the package. Average Rating:![]() |

VidPro DT-5 Mini Table-Top Tripod with Ball Head for All Small Digital Cameras, Color SilverReviewsI bought this because my camera isn't flat on the bottom and I wanted to take non-flash shots from a table without any motion blurring. This was good for that but I ended up selling it on ebay (too late to return it) and getting the Sunpak 1818XL like what a friend has that is very sturdy and has a really nice pan head without being much bigger. I am much happier with that, but this has its uses. PROS: - Folds up to be very tiny (5 inches) and so would fit in a camera bag easily, while extending out a little longer (11 inches) than similar items I saw on Amazon since the little legs extend out four times (see picture I attached). - Cheap and simple CONS: - Not sturdy: The legs slide out sort of like the old tv antennas (not that these legs are that thin) without any way to clamp them down. They are not very solid or take much weight. I didn't feel like I could press the shutter button on my camera without jiggling the camera a bit on this tripod. - I was also hoping the little ball joint and tightener on top would allow me to do basic little pans and tilts for recording videos. I can sort of do that but the tightner either clamps down or goes limp without any kind of smooth firm setting in between that will hold the camera and allow me to turn it how I need to. I bought this tripod to hold a cam corder. The discription indicated up to 10 pounds, but I think that is optimistic. Ohter than that the product is well manufactured and problem free. Nikon UC-E1 USB Cable for Coolpix 990 Digital CameraReviewsThe bad reviews provided here on this cable are from buyers that purchased from a seller that is no longer here. That seller shipped the wrong product and so those reviews you see here are not based on this cable, but on the wrong cable that seller shipped. This cable is for Coolpix 5700, 5000, 4500, 4300, 995, 990, 885 and 880. This is the only cable for these cameras the UC-E1 Not just NOT a Nikon product, and NOT just a problem of not being like the photo, this ALSO doesn't fit my Nikon 990 either!! This is just some generic Belkin USB cable, with a coupling that only barely resembles the Nikon fitting (it's far too small, the wrong pin configuration, etc etc....) I was interested in purchasing a USB NIKON Cable. This was NOT a Nikon Product, did not even look like the image displayed. [...] I bought a baby shirt and it doesnt fit me, 1 star! DEEEERRR! Read the label, its not supposed to work with the 800! From Nikon's web site:UC-E1 USB cable for the Coolpix 5700, 5000, 4500, 4300, 995, 990, 885 and 880. For use with a computer that is equiped with a USB port only. System Requirements MAC OS 8.1 or later or Windows 98/2000. Not just for the 990, and not for the 800 (as previous reviewer was disappointed to find out). I haven't used it yet, so I'm giving it a 4 on the assumption it works. Average Rating:![]() |

Celestron Photo / Video TripodReviewsI purchased this product to use with the Celestron binoculars. Assembly was straight forward and it does the job. However, with heavy binoculars the stand will vibrate if touched and takes a minute or two to stabilize. I plan to rebuild it with much sturdier legs and bracing. For the price it isn't bad, but it is far from being a stable platform for easy viewing. This tripod lasted two days after Christmas. This tripod should not be used to support the Celestron Skymaster 15x70 no matter what Amazon or Celestron may think. The Celestron Skymaster Binoculars are very happy to shear plastic quick release clean off. This tripod features mostly plastic construction and comes with sparse instructions in many languages. Just go ahead and buy the next tripod up from Celestron unless you are a fan of all plastic construction. People get what they pay for so go ahead and say, "I'll be careful with it" and bust it clean off some night under the stars. I'm glad I'm out only 33 dollars. This tripod is not covered by the no fault binocular warranty for good reason. I had purchased the VistaPix IS70 digital spotting scope w/ digital camera thinking I could use it like a regular camera. As it turns out, not a good idea. I now needed the tripod that is recommended for taking pictures. Great, another expense I had not counted on. Amazon to the rescue. I purchased the tripod used at less than half the cost of a new one. WOW, is all I can say. I'll swear it was brand new and an incredible bargain. I purchase used whenever I can and you can't tell me it's not new. Thanks again Amazon. the design of the connection between the tripod adapter and tripod is poor, the plastic cannot hold the weight of my 15x70 binoculars and caused damage to both binoculars and tripod after using only one week. although it's cheap, it still dont worth the price. I ordered this tripod, and it arrived broken. The assembly to which a camera is attached is made out of plastic. I asked for an RMA order via E-Mail, and they only gave me an address to mail it back to with a 'copy of the invoice.' Being lazy about mailing things back, and since it was cheap to begin with I tried repair it myself. Where it broke (the three plastic rings on the camera mount), it was impossible to re-glue, because of the torsion placed on those rings with any sort of pressure. Even if your tripod arrives un-broken, it will likely break the first time you drop it on the camera mount from any height at all. Average Rating:![]() |

ETX-80AT Astro Telescope w/ Tripod & Autostar ControllerReviewsI purchased this scope when, after being out of the hobby of astronomy (more or less) for 20 years, I was bitten by the bug and got back in. I was looking for a telescope that was portable and had a goto ability. This little scope delivers. If you're looking for a scope that will deliver Hubble like views, you're not going to find it here (or in any amateur instrument). However, since June this scope has showed me eclipses on Jupiter by one if it's satellites (Io), one of the rare(of late) sunspot groups on the sun (using a solar filter I purchased elsewhere), Jupiter - Uranus - Neptune - Venus all in the same night. Beautiful star clusters, colorful double stars, a few galaxies (albeit, the galaxies were just faint smudges of light) and quite a few nebulae. If you're already familiar with using a binoculars for your astronomical viewing, think of this as one half of a giant binocular...the views will be similar, but with the added bonus of being able to increase the magnification by changing eyepieces. If you do purchase this scope, I highly recommend that you also purchase the Meade 6.4mm eyepiece...this will offer greater magnification for viewing the moon and planets and for splitting very close double stars. For clusters and nebulae the included eyepieces are just fine (I use the 9.7 the most). Is the scope perfect? No...the focus mechanism takes a little practice to get used to and requires too many turns to refocus when using the barlow. Also, the batteries don't last as long as Meade claims (figure about 5 - 10 hours of use). However, this scope is an excellent bargain...very good optics, highly portable, and a goto system that makes it easy to find your targets in light polluted skies or when time is short and you need to make the most of it. Highly recommended. Very nice telescope for my 13 year old nephew, it's great for beginners. The autostar can be a little confusing though. I purchased this for my science teacher wife. She was thrilled. It is of exceptional quality and durability. Very compact and the fact that it can be used for both astronomical and terrestrial purposes is a big plus. The tripod is of good quality and light weight. Even so it seems quite sturdy. I would highly recommend a 5-10 lb weight suspended from the scope mount center. It will make images far more stable. If you have difficulty picking out night-sky objects the Autostar can be a big help in getting started. This is not a deep sky scope, more for lunar and planetary observations, bird watching and spying on neighbors (reviewer's note: the last is a joke...honest!). This was great! The directions are OK but good. If you are serious in buying this, I would suggest buying an atomic clock(needed for the autostar). Mabe some more lenses and a good clear, dark sky! The autostar is fun and neat! Word of caution don't touch the degree thing on the side (like twisting it.) It may be harder to put it in the alt/alz position. All and all it is a great scope! (-_-) When I purchased this telescope I didn't know what to expect. I thought that you take the telescope outside, punch in what object you what it to go to, and it moves. No...you have to align it, which also means buying a star atlas. One thing you never want to forget to do is explain to your kids that this image won't be like the pictures you see. Overall, this is just a scopefor lunar and planetary viewing. Average Rating:![]() |

DSi Tripod with Crystal CaseReviewsWhen it has came down to CTA, they have honestly known what makes the Nintenso DSi a bit better with the camera that Nintendo didn't score behind the lens. That was definitely well-recognized with the success of the lens kit, with the defferent lens attachments that connect with the DSi so well. but there haven't been that many accessories that feel like they might seem good, but feel a little bit flat on the grounds. That honestly is the case with the DSi tripod. While it might seem like a good concept, it honestly doesn't work as well that fits the camera through the lens. The case on the bottom snaps on nicely, but you honestly will have a tough time trying to get the case off, and not only that, it doesn't get off easily, especially if you're trying to install a new battery for the DSi after it burns out. Overall, while this might be a good concept to add to your snapshot taking needs, you really may want to pass this up, and let the negative be exposed. Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars with Tripod AdapterReviewsThese binoculars are great big wonderful things. I don't mind lugging them with me up the mountains to get the great views. I also don't really need to climb up the mountains anymore, since I can see the top from way down here. The moon looks fantastic, awooooo. I have found that they can be steadied without a tripod by gripping them at the farthest end of the lens tubes, or by sitting down and resting my hands on my knees. Works good with glasses and without. Totally changed my perspective of the visible world around me. Thanks Chinese! These binoculars are wonderful. I have not experienced any quality/collimation problems with mine (Bought January 2010). Was tracking high altitude fighter jets practicing dogfighting over the city last night. These are excellent for looking at the moon, The Pleiades, and other distant objects. They are much more practical than my telescope for away from home use. They get used a lot because they are cheap, mobile, and work well. If they break or get lost I'll just buy a new pair, which I can't say about the telescope. Thought I could use these with just a pair of steady hands. The other reviewers are right in that I did need to order a tripod. You can steady your arms against something, like a tree, and get a stable view for a few minutes. If you are going to be out looking for more than 5-10 minutes you will most definitely want a tripod. It's not just the stability either. Your forearms may go numb after about 10-15 minutes, especially if you are wearing a heavy winter coat. If you don't already have one save yourself some time, and maybe some shipping costs, and just order the tripod at the same time. I can't say enough positive tings about this fine set of binoculars which came well collimated. Its one instant where there should be no unpleasant surprises. Quality per dollar spent excels in every way. I could never expect to see what I did the first clear night I took these out. Having little to no experience viewing the night sky the result is inspiring. My first object was the Pleiades cluster. After some other views of stars and the moon (which is amazing) I turned to find the Orion Nebula. A faint glow of pale green can be seen emitting from the center but make sure to try and stay steady. Being that the magnification is so high steadiness becomes a problem. Its ok for clusters, stars, etc. but if you want to focus on any faint objects or even catch a good look at the moon and planets a tripod is essential. Trying to view Jupiter using only my hands produced a small dot of light shaking around violently in my view. As soon as I put them on a tripod not only could I see a steady ball of light (no bands or anything like that) but to my surprise I was able to make out at least 3 of the moons. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a good way to enter the hobby. Wow, the clarity is very impressive. I live in the sunny side of US, so I can see things clear and bright. The product itself is bit heavy so can't hold still or for long time. Bought a Dolica ST-500 68-Inch Lightweight Tripod tripod stand but still you got to be uttermost careful in not shaking it for obvious magnification reasons, otherwise objects are shaky. I absolutely love it. Yet to explore the star gazing side of it. Average Rating:![]() |

BARSKA Accu Grip Handheld Tripod SystemReviewsI purchased the Accu-Grip to use with my Canon Vixia HF S100 camcorder. There are a few things you should know about this handle and additionally how to simply customize it so it will work with your camera. A previous reviewer noted that about 1/2" behind the threaded screw mount is another, small sharp screw tip protruding up into the deck of the handle. This is indeed problematic in that it prevents the camera from sitting flush against the deck of the handle when attempting to tighten it down. Also, it's been mentioned that the threads do not line up properly with some cameras. I had the same situation and problems with the handle, however here are a couple tips that will solve the problems. There just aren't other items like this on the market, so it may be worth your while to do a simple customization of the handle. First, you'll need a simple metal file. It takes just a few minutes to carefully file down the sharp, protruding screw tip on the deck of the handle. If you do it carefully, you won't damage the rubber grip on the deck. Once filed down, that screw tip is no longer an issue. Second, I also found that at first attempts, the threads on the handle did not line up with the mounting threads on the camera. I finally found that if you hold the handle perpendicular to the camera as opposed to the proper parallel position, the threads line up fine. In this position, you can just make a half-turn to start the threading process, then turn the handle into its proper parallel alignment and the handle will tighten to the camera just fine. All in all, it works great. It was worth taking some time with it. I hope this is of some help to others. After reading some of the other reviews on this product, I was halfway tempted to cancel my order but I decided to give it a try. After receiving it, I found it to be EXACTLY what I was looking for! It fit my hand perfectly, it attached to my JVC camcorder perfectly and works as well or better than I had expected. I purchased this grip to avoid having a strap on my DSLR camera. This grip is useful, but only when you are done removing (from the inside) a tiny screw that sticks out of the grip's surface, next to the screw that attaches the grip to the camera. If you were to leave this tiny screw in place, it would damage the bottom of the camera. You first have to remove the rubber padding, then remove the tiny screw, then figure out how to re-attach (with glue) the padding back on the grip. I have no idea why that tiny screw is there, but you cannot use this grip with the offending screw in place. The Barska is a pistol grip that lets you hold your camcorder in a more comfortable position like the old Super 8 film cameras. My only gripe is the pointed set screw in the grip didn't line up with the alignment hole on my camcorder. It was a simple fix to remove, and the main screw still holds it tightly in place. It's simple and functional, and I'm surprised people don't use these more often. This product works pretty well for me. Sure, I don't use it all the time but sometimes I have found it to be nice to have, like another tool in my arsenal of video equipment. Sometimes using the camera hand strap isn't what I need to record my video's so this handle is nice to have when needed. Strapped to my Sony HC62 with a fish eye lens on the camera it made the camcorder setup look like an old 8mm camcorder which I did not realize until someone came over to ask me about my camera when I was out filming and they thought I was using 8mm. Never the less, it fits all my cameras so far just fine. The handle can be attached to to a tripod so you don't have to take it off to use a tripod for a moment and it fits my hand comfortably. Again, I don't use it all the time but when I do, its nice to have. Average Rating:![]() |

Accu-Grip Handheld Tripod System! The tiny size of cameras nowadays makes it easier to drop them and can allow us to accidentally block the lens or other sensors with our fingers. This Accu-Grip not only gives you a better grip on your camera, lessening the chance of dropping it, but it also greatly increases your range of photography angles as our wrists do not allow us the freedom of shooting pictures in any angle that we wish to... |

Flip Tripod for Flip Ultra and Mino CamcordersReviewsThis is obviously not a professional tripod. Comn people, it's $15! It's very versatile and works on most surfaces. Would I suggest it to a friend... yes! It does what it says and does it well. I don't like to write negative reviews unless I feel strongly, but this tripod is not worth the money at all. I bought it for a class where we have to tape conversations a few feet away, so I thought it would be perfect, but first, the mount on the flip is off to the side, so it leans to one side and while you can account for that with the legs of the tripod, the legs on this tripod are barely flexible and the black paint comes off on your hands and flakes all over the tabletop that it is sitting on. I tried to return it, but it was going to cost 5 dollars to return it and it was too much of a hassle. I'm disappointed in this product and in amazon. Don't waste your money, buy a better tripod for less money elsewhere. I'm not the first one here to balk at the price of this thing, I see. However, I carefully read and considered the recommendations of others, and decided, for once in my life, to not be such a doggone cheapskate when I was buying a "gift" for myself! I bit the bullet and made the purchase of this little accessory to go with my new camera, and boy am I glad I did! --When you need to film something, but taller people in front of you block your view, you can screw this little tripod into the camera body (it's a sturdy, solid fit, too), squeeze the three separate legs together into a solid "handle" of sorts, and hold it up, Statue of Liberty style, for an unimpeded "over the heads of the crowd" view. --Using the tripod as a handle, you can hold the camera much steadier than simply holding the bulky little rectangle in your hand--this is important, since many users crab about the camera not having that "steady-cam" feature. --Using the camera as a tripod, you can "get in the picture" yourself, and you can also aim the camera in pretty much any direction--to include a slight upward or downward perspective. --The three little feet of this gem are both sturdy and flexible, and can be bent in all directions, which makes it easy to solidly place the camera on an uneven surface, too. --If personalizing this product is important to you (and it might be, if you live in close quarters, all your buddies have one of these as well, and you don't want any discussions about whose tripod is whose), the camera comes with an assortment of "feet" caps in assorted colors--you can make all three feet different colors, if you'd like. Bottom line--if you own a Flip camera, you really do want one of these things. You may not know it yet, but once you have the thing, you'll use it a lot, and just maybe never take it off the camera, except to charge it/download images! Those Flip folks aren't foolish--this accessory would have been a wonderful thing to include WITH the camera, but even though it isn't, it's worth getting. Treat yourself--you deserve it. Buy with confidence! Works great ... my daughters love to set it up to make their own home movies. Not a big fan of this one. It has trouble balancing the flip with its offcenter tripod mounting hole. Average Rating:![]() |
